The Islamic Learning Center offers two Quran programs for school-age children:
Quran Reading Intensive Course
The goal of this course is to provide the students with the autonomous ability to properly read the Quran. The course is designed to teach reading using the Al Noorania rule, which is known as an effective way to learn reading the Quran with Tajweed. No prior Arabic knowledge is required to enroll in this course. Students graduating from this course would be able to continue onto Qira’a (reading) or Hifz (memorization) programs.
The class will be taught by Br. Maaz Khan, a Hafiz who grew up in East Metro and has been teaching Quran at the TILC weekend school program for several years.
Schedule: Every Tuesday and Thursday, 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm, Feb 6th – April 26th, 2018.
Tuition Fees: $125 per course.
Registration deadline is January 31st 2018
Hifz (Quran Memorization) Program
Hifz program provides the opportunity to children in the community to memorize the Quran with a well qualified and experienced teacher. This will be a an ongoing after-school program meeting twice a week. Quran reading fluency is required to enroll in this program. Students will be evaluated at enrollment and if more reading competency is needed, they will be required to take the Quran Reading Intensive course.
The program will be taught by Br. Hasan Hussein, a Hafiz and experienced teacher who has been instructing Hifz programs for over 20 years in Minnesota. He has graduated over 40 students with complete memorization of the Quran.
Schedule: Every Tuesday and Thursday, 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm, starting February 6th 2018.
Tuition Fees: $60 per month.
Minimum enrollment of 15 students is needed to run the program.
